In search of authenticity: exploring the reasons behind young men's engagement in online male communities and its impact on mental health and attitudes towards women

The project investigates why young men engage in online communities focused on masculinity (the ‘manosphere’) and what consequences this has for their mental health and attitudes towards women. The team analyses, among other things, the sense of authenticity, adaptation to the environment (both real and virtual) and the impact of exposure to manosphere content. The research includes questionnaires, experiments, and longitudinal analyses in Poland and the US. The results will provide a better understanding of the mechanisms shaping attitudes and well-being in the era of digital communities.
